  • What is the Xena Foundation's coaching philosophy?
We believe nutrition and exercise are real medicine. Xena Foundation Coaches and nutritionists are tasked with the mission to teach what they know and to help people better themselves through improved fitness and health practices. Your Coach will bring a goal-based structure, functional and effective movement patterns, and purposeful and corrective exercises; as well as specificity, consistency, evaluation, & progression to your everyday habits. We aim to deliver the highest experience of training by consistently learning and driving awareness towards the physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing of our clients. We tailor specific routines based on our clients' goals and needs. Training is about the process and what you learn through it. Your Coach aims to teach everything you need to know to sustain your growth and achieve your dream health, your dream happiness, and your dream body no matter where you are.
  • What can the participants expect from the coaches?
The coach is expected to listen to the client and their desires and work within that guideline as much as possible. Guidelines will be set down for each session ahead of time so that the client is aware of what behavior will and won’t be tolerated. The goal of each coaching session is to work through setbacks the client may have, clarify goals through exercises and find ways to move forward on goals with the client, i.e. creating action items. The client is expected to hold themselves accountable for what they do and don’t do to make these sessions productive.
  • Why do I need to have a Physician's Consent to participate?
The Physician's Consent form provides notification to each participants Primary Care Provider (PCP) that their patient will be engaging in an exercise and activity plan that may include activities such as cardiovascular, resistance, and flexibility training, nutrition, and mindfulness exercises. The form also allows the participant's PCP to inform The Xena Foundation about any physical activity limitations or restrictions that our trainers need to be aware of as they design that participant's training program. With this information, and additional information gathered during the in-take process, The Xena Foundation is able to assure that each participant is safely undertaking appropriate physical exercise.
  • What is fitness coaching and how does it work?
Fitness coaching can help you to meet the goals that you have for your fitness when you take the time to develop a solid relationship with the coaching professional. It is the coach’s objective to motivate you and hold you accountable for achieving your goals. From an outside standpoint, a fitness coach may be able to see areas of concern that you are not able to discern. In that sense, the process raises your awareness of a different way to handle your fitness goals. The Xena Fitness Project provides free fitness and wellness plans with individually customized solutions to promote increased health and happiness for people living with chronic illness. We know how essential it is to keep people connected and consistently engaged, not just in times of crisis. The Xena Fitness Project works to increase average weekly activity and delivers targeted resources that support the management of chronic disease.
  • What is nutrition coaching and how does it work?
The nutrition coaching service includes an initial nutrition assessment and periodic adjustments of each client’s custom nutritional strategy. Through personalized meal plans and food analysis clients learn the “how”, “when”, and “what” of the impacts that food has on their energy, mood, and workouts. No diets, just healthy & happy eating habits. We connect clients with resources, help them create action plans, and suggest easy and affordable alternatives for healthy eating.
  • What is mindfulness coaching and how does it work?
Xena Fitness Project participants acquire the techniques needed to create habits to make meaningful changes in their lives. Mindfulness improves well-being, relieves stress, lowers blood pressure, reduces chronic pain, improves sleep, and alleviates gastrointestinal difficulties. Mindfulness is also an important element in the treatment of depression, substance abuse, eating disorders, couples’ conflicts, anxiety disorders, and obsessive-compulsive disorder.
  • Do I have to take pictures in a swim suit for marketing purposes?
No. You will never be asked to present yourself for marketing purposes wearing any thing that makes you feel uncomfortable.
  • What is the deadline for registering to participate?
